About Planet X We are a visual effects studio located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Next to our core business of VFX, we run a separate company developing VFX and film related software and tools: PLX Technologies.
Planet X Technologies co-founded the biggest Virtual Production studio in The Netherlands: ReadySet Studios. Because we are closely linked to the studio we are looking for an artist getting the best out of Unreal. You will be responsible for the assembly of the Unreal scenes and, working closely together with our 3D department and TDs, making them look photorealistic within the engine whilst keeping everything real-time.
Profile, Requirements and Wishes
Creative assets and environments in Unreal Engine (terrain sculpting, manual layout placement, procedural scattering, lighting);
Asset creation for real-time rendering;
Look development within Unreal Engine;
Optimizing Virtual Sets / Rebuilding Assets and Shaders for real-time rendering;
Regularly showing progress to leads and supervisors;
Good eye and attention to detail. You need to be comfortable with composition, color and other artistic theories;
Experience in Blender and/or Houdini is preferred;
Having more in depth technical knowledge in Unreal is a plus, but the nitty gritty tech stuff will be taken care of by a TD (ie. Camera tracking, screen configuration);
Place of residence in -or close to- Amsterdam.
