Planet X zoekt (Freelance) Unreal Artists
Als Unreal Artist werk je nauw samen met de VP-supervisor en de VP-producer in onze studio.
Let op: onze sterke voorkeur gaat uit naar sollicitanten die vanuit ons kantoor in Amsterdam kunnen werken.
Over Planet X
Wij zijn een visual effects studio gevestigd in Amsterdam, Nederland. Naast VFX runnen we een apart bedrijf dat VFX- en filmgerelateerde software en tools ontwikkelt: Planet X Technologies. Planet X Technologies is mede-oprichter van de grootste Virtual Production-studio in Nederland: ReadySet Studios.
Omdat we nauw verbonden zijn met de studio, zijn we op zoek naar een Artist die het beste uit Unreal kan halen. Je zult verantwoordelijk zijn voor het samenstellen van de Unreal-scènes en, in nauwe samenwerking met onze 3D-afdeling en TD's, ervoor zorgen dat ze er fotorealistisch uitzien binnen de engine, terwijl alles in realtime blijft werken.
Profiel, Vereisten en Wensen
- Ervaring als Unreal-Artist op mid of senior niveau;
- Vertrouwd met creatieve assets en omgevingen in Unreal Engine (terrain sculpting, manual layout placement, procedural scattering, lighting) ;
- Assetcreatie voor realtime rendering;
- Look-development binnen Unreal Engine;
- Optimaliseren van virtuele sets / herbouwen van assets en shaders voor realtime rendering;
- Cinematografisch oog, aandacht voor detail om fotorealistische content te creeren.
- Ervaring in Blender en/of Houdini is een pré;
- Meer diepgaande technische kennis van Unreal is een pluspunt, maar de technische details worden uitgevoerd door een TD (bijv. cameratracking, configuratie);
- Woonplaats in -of dichtbij- Amsterdam.

We are looking for a (freelance) Unreal Artists (mid / senior level) - start asap. As an Unreal artist, you will be working closely with the VP supervisor and VP Producer at our studio to achieve the highest creative and technical standards for our virtual productions!

About Planet X
We are a visual effects studio located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Next to our core business of VFX, we run a separate company developing VFX and film related software and tools: Planet X Technologies.
Planet X Technologies co-founded the biggest Virtual Production studio in The Netherlands: ReadySet Studios.
Because we are closely linked to the studio we are looking for an artist getting the best out of Unreal. You will be responsible for the assembly of the Unreal scenes and, working closely together with our 3D department and TDs, making them look photorealistic within the engine whilst keeping everything real-time.
Profile, Requirements and Wishes
- Experience as an Unreal artist on mid or senior level;
- Familiar with creative assets and environments in Unreal Engine (terrain sculpting, manual layout placement, procedural scattering, lighting);
- Asset creation for real-time rendering;
- Look development within Unreal Engine;
- Optimizing Virtual Sets / Rebuilding Assets and Shaders for real-time rendering;
- Good eye and attention to detail and you have a cinematic approach for the creation of the LED wall content. You need to be comfortable with composition, color and other artistic theories;
- Experience in Blender and/or Houdini is preferred;
- Having more in-depth technical knowledge in Unreal is a plus, but the nitty gritty tech stuff will be taken care of by a TD (ie. Camera tracking, screen configuration);
- Place of residence in -or close to- Amsterdam.
